A day.

Today has been really weird. And productive.

Got up early this morning to pre-post before heading uptown to see Michael Macko at the Ascot Chang preview. Sam emailed me a link to a New York Times story. Apparently the Times lifted an excerpt from a story I wrote for Racked and republished it in this weekend's magazine AS IF I'd written a letter to the editor. Anyway.

On the bus ride uptown, an older woman with a cane got on, refused to sit in any of the (many) available seats, hovered over me for a while before deciding she wanted to kick the woman behind me out of her seat, then threw a fit when the bus stopped and she fell down. She went up, took the driver's badge number and threatened to sue and everything.

Then I hired a new columnist.

Headed crosstown at around 1 to see Randi. That was fun. Then, on the subway ride down to the office, ran into my friend Bill, who I haven't seen since college -- we once spent a spring break working at Mother Theresa's Center together.

Went into the office, worked, took phone calls and meetings. The mystery trip I'd agreed to go on seemed interesting and cool in the beginning, but its vagaries are starting to get really annoying.

Now heading uptown to Georg Jensen to see Lori before heading back downtown for dinner with Leo. Zoom zoom.
