Slow Blogging Movement

I've been thinking a lot lately about getting rid of my Blackberry. I know, it sounds crazy, doesn't it? To disconnect from the world like that, especially now that I'm properly working in new media.

But lately, I find nearly all the emails I get are pitches, work-related, or spam. When my friends want to reach me, they call or text. Hardly any of my closest friends even have Blackberries anymore, so I can take or leave BBM.

There are only two reasons I can think of to keep a Blackberry:
1. For traveling, to avoid having to use internet cafes.
2. For blogging on the go.

Lately I've also been thinking about taking a more thoughtful, edited approach to my personal blog.

Is there such a thing as a Slow-Blogging Movement?

I feel like I always want to take a quick photograph and post it right away without consideration for much else besides immediacy (I think it's a panic-instinct left over from my NY Post days). In turn, this blog looks really haphazard and totally lacks focus -- not that I ever intended this blog to be tidy and focused. It was always meant to be a bit all over the place.

Maybe I could take a vacation from my Blackberry and see what happens.
