Today, downstairs neighbor's many dogs started their hysterical psycho little-dog freak-out barking at 7:03 am.

I haven't been able to fall back asleep at all. I really don't think I should be forced to wear earplugs in my own home 24/7. But what can I do? My neighbor is one of those lawyers who threatens frivolous lawsuits and bites her co-workers for a living.

I have this theory that there are a lot of people who've moved to New York as adults or whenever and actually have no concept of what it means to live in a big city, where we're all in tiny apartments one on top of the other. We don't live in sprawling suburban homes or farms -- keeping multiple dogs in a tiny studio apartment and letting them bark all day long just isn't okay. It doesn't work in New York. It's not fair to your neighbors. Or the dogs, for that matter.
